Performance Management Systems(PMS), are aimed to motivate the work force to achieve personal and professional objectives. Importantly, it aligns individual employee goals with the organizational objectives and thereby prioritizes effort at the work place. It also develops the skills and knowledge of employees and has an in built process that provides a feedback about performance. The contemporary PMS is developmental in nature wherein the Managers will need to have a coaching capability so as to develop people who report into them. A good PMS should really have a positive organization wide impact and serve to enable growth of people and in turn the organization.
